Surrey Heirs are probate researchers and is a small business owned by Jenny Aldridge. Having successfully traced relatives, we now help return money to heirs. We work off the Treasury Solicitor's list, or private work from Solicitors. The money will go the Government if not claimed within 30 years. Similar to heir hunters as seen on BBC1, but tracing smaller amounts. Jennifer Aldridge is a member of the Heir Hunters Association. We have found the tracing the easy part. Convincing the heirs that they are heirs and that it will not cost them anything, is the hardest part. Surrey Heirs pays for all the expenses in the claiming procedure and is paid by a Finders Fee from each share. Where possible we will also Administer the estate to save on solicitor's fees. This involves finding family members who may also inherit. We are based in Surrey but cover any area.
- Please note: this is a win/win situation, the heir would not have known he/she was an heir if it was not for our hard work, so they receive money they did not know was there and we get paid for our hard work. If that heir feels that we should not be paid for our work and wants to claim the money directly, that heir will have to prove they are an heir, with all certificates joining them to the deceased, but be aware the amount you pay for one individual claim may be more than your share of the estate, as the full amount will be shared with other heirs, if found.
- Similarly, If an heir does not wish to receive the money then please consider giving it to charity. An heir is needed to release the money from the TSOL.
- In all cases you will be asked to provide ID.
Current Cases:
The Estate of Graham Charles Hughes is about to complete but we are stil waiting for all family members to return their ID.
The Estate of Ian Clowes Neville is due to complete, all relatives should file a claim before the end of May 2013.
